This board offers the means for controlling a servo with a variable resistor connected via a length of ribbon cable. When the spindle of the variable resistor is turned, the servo mirrors this movement by turning through a corresponding angle. The system can thus be used for precise positional movement at a distance – e.g., two or more boards can be used to provide the axes of movement for a robotic arm. Please note that as long as the board is powered, the servo firmly holds its stationary position (and even when power is removed, the high gearing ratio inside acts as a kind of hand brake).
The board comes complete with a 10k variable resistor, battery snap and a short length of ribbon cable (soldering required). It requires a 6volt power supply such as a 4AA battery pack.
